Subject:Careers in pro-life causes?

I know this is an unorthodox question, but I am currently looking for a career change and it dawned on me that one of the things I am most passionate about is the pro-life cause. So I was wondering, does anyone know if there is such a thing as having a career working for a pro-life organization? I understand that most of them are volunteer-based, and others involve people in the medical profession (I am not medically trained). Is there any room in there for people who want to work more in the area of communications, for example?

Any ideas? I realize this is a long-shot, but figured it was worth asking! Thanks!

Which state are you in? Each state has a Right to Life affiliate, though they're typically located in Capitol cities. If you're near a Capitol city, you could give them a call. You could also volunteer to get your face on the radar. I called my affiliate (after volunteering for several years), asked for an internship and got one right away. It was suh-weet.

Thanks! I actually live IN a capital city, so I will definitely give my local affiliate a call.

i am a social work major & am doing an internship for a pro-life agency & i hope to one day work for something like that... one thing i've talked with some volunteers about is the lack of people who have non-medical/human service skills/training... so agencies tend to lack people who have organization skills, advertising & promotional skills... lots of groups have newsletters/websites & things but they tend to take a back burner because of the lack of people who can do that. the downside is they may be task based so it may be an occasional thing.

Oh that's great! I think the main problem for me is I am considering it as a full time occupation, so I would need it to be paid, not just an internship or volunteering, which is great but won't work for me as I have bills, etc. ^_^ So hopefully I'll be able to call around and find something that is an actual job.
